About VA Outpatient Clinic
Lantz-Boggio Architects completed the proposal design phase for a freestanding three-story VA medical facility in Colorado Springs. The project consists of 100,000 GSF and was designed to be LEED Silver certifiable. Our unique concept utilized Planetree concepts and melded interior and exterior spaces into a unified whole. The building was designed with an internal “spine” that was illuminated with natural light and opened on each end to nature. Furthering the concept was the interior design where the spine was populated with trees, benches and outdoor-type lighting fixtures. The intent was to create a neighborhood inside the building for patients, staff and visitors to mingle and become a focal point of the facility. The building contained a variety of outpatient departments including physical and rehabilitation medicine, pharmacy and multiple clinical operations.
