Intended to serve a range of acuity levels, the building’s interior design incorporated best practices for aging in place.
Subtle techniques for achieving this include color selections and patterns that create contrast of furniture and fabric to the flooring, an abundance of low energy lighting, strategically placed finished materials, local artwork for way-finding and Universal Design for furniture placement so residents and guests with physical challenges can maneuver throughout the community while enjoying its amenities.
These non-institutional design elements are especially appropriate for those with visibility and cognitive impairments.
