About Sunrise Elementary

Sunrise Elementary School is a new school and a prototype for other schools in the District including Baggs Elementary School and Saddle Ridge Elementary School.The site development plan provided for off-street bus lanes, parking, parent drop-off, and the same playground area as the existing site. Building plan provided for two clusters of classrooms – primary and intermediate. These classroom clusters are located off the primary circulation spine for noise isolation and security purposes. Administration, media, and resource rooms are central to each classroom cluster. The multipurpose area is acoustically isolated from classroom areas and allows for separate public entry for evening and weekend activities. In addition, a PALS program was included in the school. Master planning services was provided for this project. Sunrise Elementary School was featured in the AS&U Architectural Portfolio for its outstanding design.
