About Building 803

This project included selective demolition of exterior walls, a mezzanine, all interiors, mechanical and electrical systems, windows, doors and the entire roof of the existing 18,434 GSF cast-in-place concrete building.

The existing concrete structure had significant rebar and steel structure degradation, which was all repaired. Asbestos, lead and PCB materials were abated, and significant structural repairs were made throughout. The roof system was replaced. AT/FP compliant windows and doors were designed. New interior spaces on two floors, such as offices, restrooms, shower rooms, break rooms, file rooms and a new mechanical mezzanine were created. New plumbing, mechanical, electrical, telecommunication, fire suppression, and fire alarm systems were added; the main Electrical Vault and secure storage were replaced.

The project was designed for a remote atoll in the South Pacific and for a highly corrosive marine environment.
