About The Visitor Control Center
In response to a campus-wide AT/FP security upgrade, the Visitor Entry Control Center and South Gate House facilitated the mission critical need to manage contractor, vendor, visitor, and tourist access to the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, CO. The planning and design incorporated AT/FP standards related to: traffic calming, standoff distances, blast-resistance glass, bullet-resistant glass, and surveillance corridors.
The new 4,000 GSF Visitor Entry Control Center and the new 500 GSF South Gate House were designed to be consistent with the international system design of the distinguished Air Force Academy.
