BIM BENTLEY MICROSTATION ADDED TO LANTZ-BOGGIO’S SUITE OF TECHNOLOGY SYSTEMS
To better serve our clients, Lantz-Boggio Architects has added Bentley MicroStation BIM (building information modeling) software to our technology suite of systems.
Bentley MicroStation
is the preferred BIM software of many district offices of the U.S. Corps of Engineers.
Bentley technology allows Lantz-Boggio to create, with great freedom, designs for the whole project delivery process and for the entire lifecycle of the facility. This will compress design development time, provide immediate visual feedback, predict performance, provide material quantities and costs and collaborate with consulting engineers with shared multi-disciplinary BIM models.

NEW PHOTOVOLTAIC (PV) ENERGY SYSTEM IS PART OF LANTZ-BOGGIO’S DESIGN FOR THE U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY'S VANDENBERG HALL REMODEL
Installation of this 174 kW thin film amorphous silicon PV system is a first for the Air Force Academy and will help the Academy
meet sustainable energy goals which is a direct response to the
Energy Policy Act (EPAct) 2005.
This installation is a part of a multi-million dollar renovation of the 950,000 SF Vandenberg Hall which was one of the original buildings in the
USAFA campus. Lantz-Boggio Architects planned this renovation in multiple phases over several years. This cutting-edge technology roof-integral
system features 98% efficient inverters and comes with a single source, 25-year warranty that includes the roof membrane and PV system. The roof is a
Poly Methyl Methacrylate by
Soprema and is installed by
JBlanco Enterprises, a Denver 8(a) MBE/SBE/WBE/DBE firm. The total cost of the PV
system is estimated to be paid back in energy savings in only 17 years. This is another highly innovative sustainable design by Lantz-Boggio Architects.
Current plans are to provide other Cadet Area buildings with similar PV systems to generate additional renewable power to help the Air Force Academy meet their
net-zero electricity goal by 2015.
